Music for a more interesting inner life.

A collection of visual experiments exploring unexpected imagery, typography, emotional contrast and the development of a recognisable artist identity.

An important discovery

Visual Independence.

Early explorations tried too hard to make the artwork communicate what the music was already communicating.

The turning point was recognising that imagery could possess its own personality, intelligence and even a sense of humour without having to explain the songs.

From that came a simpler creative principle:

  1. IMAGEcreates curiosity.
  2. TITLEprovides a clue.
  3. DESCRIPTIONrewards deeper interest.

This approach gives individual tracks permission to look radically different while still belonging to the same artist.

The following studies explore that freedom: different visual worlds, competing ideas, unexpected colour relationships and the search for an identity that remains recognisably onlytomas.

  1. 01

    Signal Residue

A visual system for onlytomas — traces of a larger conversation: fragments, diagrams, celestial geometry and strange symbols.

  2. 02

    Tender Static

Calm, filmic and tactile — paper white, ash gray, bruised mauve, faded navy and dim amber.

  3. 03

    Public Margin

Find meaning in the margins — give space different meaning.

  4. 04

    Soft Engine

Small systems, deep resonance — precise forms and quiet feelings.

  5. 05

    Palette Directions

Unusual colour worlds for music, feeling and intrigue.

CNote

“These studies document an evolving visual language. The aim is not to illustrate every lyric, but to create imagery interesting enough to stand independently beside the music.”
